Day 38 - Richland Center to Madison WI to Portage IN

The Visitor Center in Taliesin designed by Frank Lloyd Wright

A barn designed by Wright
And a house, also at Taleisin
While we were looking at architecture, we went by House on the Rock, a kitchy, over-the-top tourist trap. This is the Infinity Room

Lots of cheese (and mice) in Wisconsin.
The next stop that day was the Unitarian Meeting House in Madison designed by Wright. He was also a member there.

The pulpit with space for the choir and organ overhead. Light flows through the windows.

The movable benches don't exactly face the pulpit as they are tilted to each side. Maybe seeing outside is more important than looking at the minister??

The offices are off this hallway. The rooms contain no walls with right angles.
This church helps support the Unitarian church in Nagy Aita, Romania. We loved seeing this as when we were PCVs in Romania, we were friends with the minister there and his wife and started our Christmas market in that village.
The congregation outgrew the sanctuary designed by Wright  and had this new beautiful space built.
We went into Madison proper and enjoyed brats and beer by the lake at the university student union.
Nice place to attend school

We also did a tour of the state capital building filled with gold plated statues.
