Day 3 - Memphis

Our next stop was Memphis where we stayed in a cabin at the Graceland RV Camp. It was right next to Graceland and Margaret took the tour (Mel and I had done it before) while Mel and I explored new places.
Mel and I went to the Civil Rights Museum at the site of the Lorraine Motel.  There were many exhibits about MLK's death , the Civil Rights Movement and its leaders. We were able to view the balcony where MLK was shot and the room he stayed in. It was very moving and sad but also inspiring.  The museum currently  is being updated and enlarged.
Quite a transition but next Mel and I went to Sun Studios where Elvis as well as many, many others first recorded.
Sam Phillips who owned the studio and "sold" Elvis to RCA after 18 months
Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis and Johnny Cash

That night we took a free pink limo to Malone's for barbecue.
